Office Betta

Kage, your setup is fabulous!
What better inspiration to get homework done than to have bettas on your desk and be able to hang out with them while you work.
(my bettas are the only reason I actually go into the office, too lol)
I especially love it that you've got TFF on the screen in that photo. heh

I see you have pvc pipe in their tanks too - do they love to swim thru it?
I've been meaning to get some of my boys some of that but I know of at least one (Harvey the psycho) who probably won't even notice it's there. He never goes down to the bottom level of his tank. He's always swimming laps or hanging in a plant up top or somehow hanging around up at the top of the tank...

eudie -
I think you'd be perfecly safe to tote him home in his tank.
I'm not sure if I know where you live at, so the temp where you live might be warm already, but if it's cold, make sure you have a warm car waiting by the door when you transport him, and that you don't have a long haul to go from your car to your house.

I think as long as he still has his familiar tank to be in he'll be fine. It stresses them out much more when you move them from tank to tank.

Yeah my bettas like to sleep in the tubes. Every Morning when I turn the lights on, they come crawling out of their tubes like vampires  . IMO Bettas need a place to hide away from light and constant faces staring inside their tanks to relieve stress. In the wild, there are dense plants to hide from the light. I also put indian almond leaves where they like to build their bubble nests under.

Oh my, so it's not just me getting nuts about those beautyfull fish! I bought my first Betta about two weeks ago, now- since almost a week I have three! Bob Marley, Brad and Favre! :p :D (I named the last two that because I had to calm my husband down, he did not wnat me to get more fish- so I named the last two after his all time favourite Footballplayer from the Greenbay Packers- Brad Favre!- it worked !)

Oh, by the way! I do have that Tank Bettamom was talking about- Aquatank plus it's called! It comes with a plant, Airstone and lighted hood! The Thermometer you see on Bettamoms Tank costs only a dollar at WM at is great! Oh, and the lighted hood will heat the water in no time to about 78- 80 F. As long as you keep it on it will be very cozy for your Betta, no extra heater needed!! Can't wait to see what you got!

PS: Get on or two Ghost-Shrimps (about 26 cents each at Wallmart) as Tankbuddys for him, they eat the food that fell to the ground and algea, they help to keep your Tank clean, and you fish got buddys he won't mind to have around, plus- they are so fun to watch! :D

Thanks for the idea about the ghost shrimp. He looks lonely in his tank all by himself. I was also worring about how to vacuum the gravel in that little tank, and the ghost shrimp would help with any excess food. Good idea!!!
