Odessa Barbs - Is A Pair Ok?

Can anybody help. I bought 1 male and 1 female odessa barb yesteryday, will there be any problems as i have read on some other topics that the male can get very nippy and chase the female around?

I am thinking of getting 6 odessas for my tank. I have read that they do better in groups of at least 6 with more females to males, so 4 females to 2 males. They look stunning and active fish. Is the male pestering the female yet??
