Odd coloured Bristlenose..

just thought i'd update this...

they grew out of their cool colours :(

the do have very slightly tinges to their yellow - but only noticable because i'm looking for it.

I just got some spotted BN pleco. The spots on the fins of yours are all over mine, but their bodies are a lighter colour than yours. Yours must have a gene somewhere way back for spotted.

they change colour to suit their surroundings - but these had orange trim rather than yellow :)

but they grew out of it :(

Hey Russ,

Nice fish !! ;)

Will try and get some pics of my 2 new BN's, but they've found a nice hiding place at the back of my tank under some rocks, and I never see them out !! :(

Fingers crossed they'll get more adventurous when they've settled in to the tank.... they've only been in the there since Sunday...

You have a PM as well mate ;)

'Bristlenose' covers more then one species. One of my favourates is the 'Medusa', though it's more of a scavanger then an algae eater.

PM returned

I'm still on the lookout for a starlight bristlenose (or even better - a pair) :kana:

Not sure what 'L' number Bristlenose's I've got !!

will get some pics soon, and hopefully you guys will be able to help me identify them !! ;)

good luck mate.

Its almost impossible for 'common bristlenoses' - I'm not sure about ours, it's only the fact that our females dont have bristles that points at the L181's...
