if i actually went through with all the plans for fish i've ever had, i'd probably have sixty tanks by now. yeeshus  this includes a book shelf with three 2g Starfish/Explorers on each of the four shelves, each containing one male Betta; two large Marineland retailer tanks each containg 6 Platties, Guppies, Tiger Barbs, Veiled Leopard Danios or Veiled White Clouds and six Kuhlii Loaches; one monstrous 200g u-shaped tank with a Tiger Oscar and an Albino Oscar; a 50g with four Angels and eight Albino Cories and lastly another 50g with 50 female Bettas.

the only reasonable plan i've come up with is working for my LPS next year, specifically being able to lug fish and equipment home in place of pay :D

so, what're your 'unreasonable' plans?

none of my plans r unreasonable.......it's my mom who's unreasonable ;) i found a 20 gal tank kit with everything 4 70$ new and i can't get it.......i can afford everything but i guess she's not totally unreasonable i am going to university next sept. and lugging 2 10 gals and 1 20gal as well as 4 bettas is a little impossible! guess i'll have 2 wait 8 or so years b4 i can get anything more :-(

Same here, my mom is the unreasonable one. NO MORE FISH!!! :X So I sneak in a betta here, two white clouds there.... change the ten gallon sitting on the counter to an 18..... Now I have 8 tanks and I'm buying a new 18 for my rams soon! :D

Right now I have planned to get a small 15-20 gal for a couple of honey gouramis and glowlight tetras, maybe with some kuhliis, a 80 gal for an asian setup, say 65-70 gal for congo tetras and cories, and a 55 gal for a south american tank. The unrealistic part? Well, to fit those tanks in my tiny apartment, I'd need to get rid of all the other furniture. *sigh*

At the moment all plans are on hold until we move house next year and ive even closed down a couple of tanks to make moving easier when it comes. But once we move i am getting the fish house with 30 plus tanks that i have been promising myself for years, the only problem is going to be choosing what to put in them

The problem is there will be limits :( As the move is going to mean a serious cut in wages the majority of the space is going to be taken up by small breeding tanks in the hope that the fry will at least help towards the cost of running the fish house. Although i do enjoy breeding fish my real interests are the large predatory fish but one they dont often breed in captivity and two the tank space they require would leave little room for more than 3 or 4 tanks.

is anyone else like me, i get £14.50 a week from my paper round and pocket money but i cannot help spending it :-( i like to shop, i like to shop a lot :D but last week i got a new tank so i canot complain :D

...but just think of that fresh air and lower cost of living outside London - it'll save you a packet CFC... :D

Ditto on that, where abouts are you moving too.

Trouble is when I start planning the old credit card starts grinning so trying to keep it at a minimum at the moment :p

The mrs parents are retiring to Dorset and have bribed us to move with them with the offer of a free house, of course we have to take it as we would be stupid not to but the wages i will be able to get are less than half what i can earn in London for the same job and less hours :(
Of course the fact that the house has a large fish house er i mean garage on the side is a huge plus though and makes the wages almost bearable, and i can always pop into London every few weeks and do a weeks work to boost my earnings if things get tough.

cfc, you are getting a free house and are still worried about money?
ask if your inlaws want to adopt anyone as i could use one of them!!!!

i am also planning a fish house and am gathering tanks etc. slowly through friends who are selling theirs and the local free ads paper, last week i got a 48" x 30" x 18" tank for £40 and the guy gave me a 60" x 18" x 15" for free!!!!!
i am hoping to be able to do everything for less than £200.
