O.K, something is SERIOUSLY wrong.

Going a little off topic here, but I was wondering about pop-eye. I don't know much about diseases, but I thought pop-eye is pretty much incurable. Is there really medication for it?

Maybe it's red tide :shifty:

"Dinoflagellida dinocysts, dinoflagellates, dinomastigotes, dinophytes, mostly marine planktonic but some freshwater representatives, may form 'red tides' (Gonyaulax), be luminescent (Noctiluca), form symbiotic relationships with coelenterates (Gymnodinium), and others (Peridinium)"

But the red light bulb idea sounds more likely!

I told you....I't the attack of the mysterious red kool-aid...."MmMM Tastes like fish!"

Didn't you say in a post previous to this that the medication you were adding to the tank was making the water yellow?? Could it be this getting more concentrated?

I take it you don't believe a thing I said about the water being red. O.k, I will joke no more because you all assume I am joking about the red water. HOW CAN I POSSIBLY CONVINCE YOU THAT THE WATER IS REALLY RED?!?!?!?!?!? I am NOT joking.

So here is what I am going to do. I am going to do an 80 percent water change. Then, I will try to return the 2 goldfish. If they say no to the pop eye fish, I WILL SIMPLY TAKE IT AND THROW IT INTO THE WOODS!!!!!!! Ok, fine, I won't really do that. That would be horrible and monsterous. But what do you want me to do? I'm doing my best here people!!! I am still curing the fish. It takes a while.

Please, just cut me some slack. I'm doing my best here. O.K, give me some time. I will fix all this soon enough.

Not saying I don't believe you just that you said earlier you were adding some yellow med, wondering if thats either reacted with something or turned red anyway?

aschueler, if thats the case I'm gonna bang head against wall...sometimes easiest option is the case :p there has been ppl on here that had coloured gravel that leached the dye into the tank

It's natural colored gravel. And if I ever did get a colored gravel, blue would be the first thing I got. As a matter of fact, if I ever get gravel again, it WILL be blue cause blue is my favorite Color.

Ther is no red light anywhere near the tank. I have had that tank set up right where it is for over a year and I have never had a red bloom before.

Anyway, I will make a BIG water change. I will get rid of the goldfish AS SOON AS I CAN!!! Trust me, I don't want them. They're waay too messy.

Ugh, all this stress is so stressful. I think I'm gonna take a nap. :zz All this is so confusing. :S

AAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!! WHY THE HECK DIDN'T I THINK ABOUT IT?!?!?!?!?!? IT IS PLAIN CHEMISTRY!!!!!!!!!!

I started using the meds monday. By tuesday, they take affect, tuesday, the very same day I add Chlorine remover. In the morning, more meds and chlorine remover (chlorine remover is a long story) AAAA HAHAHAHAHA!!!! I AM STUPID!!!!! BUT I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAAA!!!!

Now to fix the nitrate and ammonia spike.

How your fish are surviving is beyond me, but then again I am new to this.

Dude, why don't you dechlorinate the water before you add it? Are you making a giant organic chemistry reaction in there?

Not to sound harsh, but if you are right, then you have mixed so many things together that have formed another, as yet unknown compound that has turned your water a different color.

This should be more relaxing, my friend!

O.k, nevermind. I come home from school today and, AFTER ALL THAT WORK AND SUCCESS, THE WATER IS AS RED AS EVER!!!!!!

O.k. I am going to assume it is red tide and I am going to do a 100 percent water change. Time to break out the one gallon bottles. I need ten of them.

haven't been throwing cheddar cheese in there hve you?
sorry, had to.

maybe you should cut down on the meds a bit. or try putting the fish youre treating in something else so that your tank can get back to normal...............
