hello! does anyone have experience with planting pygmy water lilies in bigger nano freshwater tanks (30-60L), especially for fish who prefer shady environments?
would the lighting be an issue? most kinds should be hardy enough, and I don't think it could be that hard to trim in case it becomes overwhelming.

I've no experience with pygmy water lily, which I guess is a species of Nymphaea.

huh.
from what I've seen, they don't grow more than 50 cm in diameter, and they're quite scenic. they also don't require any more than 40cm of height for their roots
they do like sunlight though (like most water lillies), that's probably the biggest issue.
if it turns out almost nobody has tried i might do it myself.

I have one in my 240 and it could easily fit in a 5 gallon a year later..oh,its grown..but the leaves are only 2" around?..lots of leaves too...but its super compact. Its the plain one, N.stellata, sold at all the fish stores and I guess in substrate with no dirt and moderate lighting,it reduces.
Try that one.
