Curious if anyone has used this to get a tank cycled faster? I know most say the cycle stuff doesn't work cause most the bacteria is dead already but curious if anyone has had any luck with it. According to bottle says to put 25ml in first day and 10ml in the next 2 days for each 10 gal. Issue I'm having is trying to get my fry tank cycled faster as I need it lol.

Now if nobody has had luck with this stuff what do I need to add to my fry/grow out tanks filter as far as media from my main tank which is cycled? I have an Elite HOB filter now it has the insert with the 2 black sponges and the main filter pack in the back behind them. Could I add one of the black sponges to my fry tank and would that screw my bacteria level up in my main tank as I don't want to mess the colony up in my main tank as that is cycled and going great.

Wanted to add in should I add any filter media to my main tank like that fluff stuff you see so I can take pieces of it out to put in other tanks filters to help cycle them?

I have always used Bactinettes to cycle my tank ( I will probably be hung for saying that )...in just under a week, my readings were good, I am very sceptical about Nutrafin products full stop

Well a few people have told me that this has "speeded" it up. But I think one thing that has a high rate of speeding it up is Bactinattes. Not sure if your LFS will have them though, mine dont. I only saw them in Maidenhead.

nutrafin cycle USUALLY is just as good as leaving your tank full of water and waiting for it to cycle.... Just no point lol..... reports of bactinettes(sp) working are occasionally good but the consencious is that it may contain the wrong bacteria so may casue some some of spike at some point.... the only garenteed way of a perfect cycle is either the ammonia method or clonning mature media.

i used to think the same until i was 3 months into my fish in cycle(i know i was uneducated) but i decided to use cycle and within 24 hours it started to cycle, so maybe it doesn't work until later stages, i dont know but it wrked for me

I had some kind of aditional support from Cycle - but it is completely unmeasurable and could have been just my good luck. The tank was cycled within a week - although I did use old substrate from my smaller tank (was performing an upgrade) that would have contained some of the required bacteria.

If you have excess gravel in your main tank - some in the fry tank would be a good start. Then simply add a bit of any of the filter media you have in your main tank - being sure to leave enough for the main tank and replace stuff taken with fresh. The bacteria you need are present on everything in the filter.

Im on my 9th day of cycling my new tank and at first i didn't see the point in using the Nutrafin cycle supplement as i read loads of other peoples posts saying its a waste of money but as i already had it and didn't see the harm in using it anyway.
I didn't start using it until day 6 and as soon as i did use it i could see a big drop in my Ammonia.

so if you have got it you might aswell use it as its not going to cause you any problems.
