I would never use a vacation feeder anyway.
I'm going to New York next month and will be gone from friday evening, to the following sunday evening (8 and a half days). I'll feed as normal on the friday before I go, and my mum is going to come in on the wednesday and tip the little baggy of food I'll leave into the tank (2 pinches of flake and 1 algae wafer). Then they should be ok until I get back, and no overfeeding problems.
To be fair to my nephew, he read the back of the flake food box and it says "feed 3 times daily", so he's only 11, and he was trying to do the right thing (and probably though I was being mean lol). So he CAN follow instructions, just not mine >.<
