Ok, we have decided to keep the tank!
Will get some anti internal bacteria med today.
The only thing is I put med in the other day & is due for second dose on friday. Do you think I should just add anti bacterial & forget about the second dose?
Or should i use both treatment s in conjunction with each other?

Update: the sick danio seems better but the guppy is a little worse.

My weekly water cahnge is due tomorrow, you think i should do it today? Then I can add carbon filter.
I realised i have asked a question that has already been answerd, soz about that.
As for the anti bacterial med should i get it & add on wednesday, or will this be too late? I think without med my male guppy will die.
Thank-you for all your advice, please keep it comming as i am clueless!

Hmmm, how long will you be away for? Will there be anyone there to look after your tanks?

Will return on wednes day, so that is 4 days then we away again for another 5 days. when we planned to be away i thought it would be fine as i have been told that this lenght of time with no food is ok?
I just wish they were not sick. I dont suppose my fiance will be too impressed if i sugest we stay @ home to tend the fish rahter than celebrate the holidays!

 Yep agreed!

What kind of med are you using? Is it a 1 time treatment or does it run the course of a week?

Not sure what the type will be depends wot lfs has. Need to buy anti-internal bacteria med tonight if that is best action to take?
If I carbon filter overnight will it remove the anti-white spot med? I could treat tomorrow after water change.

Most meds I use and have seen, require a dose every day or so. If this is the case with the stuff you're gonna buy, then it's not really worth treating yet, because you wont finish the course before you go. :/

I'm not really sure what you should do :dunno:

Definately do a water change and put carbon in the filter ASAP, but I'm not sure if you should start the meds now or when you come back. -_-

you are probably right, so i might as well resign my self to comming home to a few dead fish! Sigh!
I hope after xmas to get this right I am not getting any new fish till the ones I have stop dying.
i guess a month should be long enough to know if i have a healthy tank?

To treat my white spot i turned it up to 30c and its gone.
Now have fin rot, doh!
Treating that now.
Not having much luck either.
Lost 3 fish so far.
Think maybe I have a bitta early tank syndrome. Only had it for a month and have, 2 plecs, 4 danios, 3 gouramis and a siamese fighter.
Lost one danio, got another, then he died, and now another has died.
My siamese fighter is now not looking too good. :dunno:

Dont worry mate, your not the only one! Im on here reading loadsa things that i didnt know. Its all a learning curve i guess!

Yes, it is a very steep learning curve.

Once you get through the initial stuff you will realise how rewarding it is to have a tank. You will begin to appreciate the fish more when you look at the tank instead of sitting there pointing out problems (finrot, whitespot, dropsy, shredded tails, you name it I have had it :p). I have found the less I worry about my tanks and fish the better off they are.

Keep it up...it will be well worth the effort :D

Hi All & Merry Xmas

Just to update you, the maleguppy died. Rest of fish seem ok right now.
Will water change as usual, add a little salt and Liquisil general tonic : hopefuly to help them over the xmas period.

They will be so lonely!! :-(

Let us hope a bit of a famine period does them no harm!

& Angry_Platy cheers for encouragement.
Rodders hope you have more Luck than me.
