It's usually a good idea to continue with the original thread or post a link to it so people can refer back to what has already been said.

You can try using triple sulpha (tri sulfa) and see if it helps. It's a broad spectrum medication that treats bacteria, fungus and some external protozoan infections, but it is safe for most animals including shrimp. So it should be safe for crabs. However, the crab might be too far gone to survive.

Regarding the UV light, they only need that for a few hours each day. Don't have lights on at night because they need some dark time to sleep or go walk about.

So for the tri Sulfa. I’m either going to heal her or kill her.?
I do have another little red claw crab ( pistachio ) in the tank as well, she’s climbing everything, she’s eating pellets and leaves and algae and she’s been taking well to the shrimp brine I’ve added, shes been ontop of everything / out of the water. Is the tru sulfa going to effect her or will it not even bother her.? The little one has been in close contact with the other one ( they weren’t even concerned that they were literally ontop of each other ) Newest isn’t changing, doesn’t seem slower, no loss of balance, no loss of appetite, still exploring, still foraging..
My water is good, everything is what it should be, I’ve added a little more salt, begun a daily water change, feeding every other day or directly too. If food isn’t eaten within 20 minutes it’s taken out. Newest is doing great, oldest is hanging on.

So, I’m gonna opt out of the tri sulfa. As I seen mentioned before it can either help her or fully wipe her out. So, I’m gonna let her be, I began doing water changes every day, now I’ve switched it to every other day. Water is good, tests are good, no ammonia nothing is wrong, water is clear as ever.
Seeing as I have had her for 9 months now, it kind of adds up to possibly just being old.
She hasn’t fully stopped eating; but she has slowed down, she doesn’t just sit in one spot, she is in a completely new spot every morning, she’s still walks around but she is a lot slower, I think she is beginning to lose her balance, but she’s still alive, I’m gonna lean towards she’s surviving now…. but she’s my original, I want to let her run her course…. Is that mean of me.? Should i ease her out.? Or is it okay to let her take her time and keep a close eye and remove her when it’s time.?

So, from then until now, she kept going. I slowed water changes since everything was good and when I changed the water last night I guess she was just to weak to handle it all.

So, she was either sick and hung on this long… or she was simply just old and she had her time.
