Not sure what’s happing with my red claw crab and I’m freaking out.!!!

Cross all fingers it'll be ok... I think you are taking great preventative measures!
Thank you, I don’t want to lose her. I just started with them 8 months ago and my son has fallen in love with them…. They are so cool and so interesting.!

I’ll post again in a little and update, I appreciate your help and knowledge.

Glad I could give a tiny bit of help

I have a feeling she will pull through and be named after a pirate someday.

Ugh thank you so much.! You have no clue.! ❤️❤️ Here’s praying. And if she lives and stays this way. She’s unique as heck and id never confuse her.

On the up side, the newest addition ( pistachio ) is doing well and exploring the whole tank, she’s eaten, climbing the pineapple and picking some algae off the block tower. I know I shouldn’t have gotten a new one but she was exchanged for the cannibal so.

I’ll just keep a closer eye on the both of them and an even closer watch on the water and try some meatier foods.

Well luckily it sounds like their doing good! (I love her name)
Hopefully they don't fight...
Has Sparrow been doing well?

They’ve been in the pineapple and blocks and pipes just hiding, they’ve gotten sick of me for the time being.
She seems to be okay so far. Im hoping for the best.!
I keep creeping in to check on them. Pays off, I found Jack.
Females don’t tend to fight or attack, they just shoosh them away. The males are the ones that go after others.

Wait... Wouldn't males want to be a bit more "friendly" with the females though... I mean... That's nature, they should want to be together and not... Murdering each other lol

Tell that to the a hole that ate the last girl….. fully… 🙄🙄. You’d think, but they are very territorial and breeding in tanks is a different story… must be some type of good plants growing where they’re making the babies.

And they actually eat their eggs before they even get a chance to survive so .. yum yum.

Ah ok... So they need the mood not just the other one 😅...
They need the "love plants"

Would that be considered caviar? I know its fish eggs that are called that but yum yum yum... Idk what those taste like.

See, my fish give me 50 fry weekly, then they eat 40... Lovely

That’s just that exquisite type of caviar. 😂😂.

Still a little concerned over my red claw crab.

She was a deep colour when I first got her, 8 months later she’s begun to turn and orangeish colour, now her sides are beginning to turn colour.
She just sits there with her claws open a little pointing down, her one eye now looks like she’s having a little issue.

Water test and ammonia tests have been done everyday. I’ve been doing a good clean everyday and begun to add a little more salt.

Just curious if anyone knows anything.?!?!
Pictures before / after
Picture of her on black rock is before.
I cannot find anything even suggesting a colour change.

It's usually a good idea to continue with the original thread or post a link to it so people can refer back to what has already been said.

You can try using triple sulpha (tri sulfa) and see if it helps. It's a broad spectrum medication that treats bacteria, fungus and some external protozoan infections, but it is safe for most animals including shrimp. So it should be safe for crabs. However, the crab might be too far gone to survive.

Regarding the UV light, they only need that for a few hours each day. Don't have lights on at night because they need some dark time to sleep or go walk about.
