Uh oh...

I didn't really do any research on fish, but I put some Black Neon Tetras, the same day I setup my tank, waited for the water to reach 24 degrees celcius then i put my tetras in. Right now they are in a 10 gallon tank.

They have been living in my tank; fine for 3 days.

What kind of fish might I get next? :/

Hi

As you didn't do a fishless cycle, you need to wait for the cycle to take it's natural course (usually 4-6 weeks). I wouldn't put any more fish in until this has has run its course. More fish equals more ammonia which is toxic to fish.

Make sure you do regular water tests and water changes, you need to look for a nitrite spike then a nitrate spike, once your Ammonia and Nitrites are zero you can get some more fish. Gravel or filter squeezings from another tank may help speed up the process

When this is all done I would suggest that you get a few more black neons as they are a shoaling fish which like groups of 6 or more. And then maybe some platies or peacful barbs (cherry barbs are lovely)

Thanks, Liliano.

Would it make a difference if I add more plants? Currently I have 1 plant
