Not Quite Sure If My Huge Guppy Is Pregnant!

My guppy that was so fat that I thought she was just pop with babies, still hasn't dropped!
I'm slightly woried coz she's getting fatter and her scales underneath her are sticking out so she looks rough.
Her "womans Bits" is highly visible and sticking out. You can only see a gravid spot when shes got her tail to you. Also she has got white stringy poo, that doesn't look like poo coz it's as thin as a strand of cotton.
She's swimming normally and can keep her ballance so not quite sure what it is.
Is she a poorly girl or is she just getting ready to drop?




Ok so i went into the lfs that I got her from today and they say from the sounds of it, she is egg bound! And there is nothing I can do for her. Is this right? Have I just gotta wait for her to die?

I've only had her since wed and she has only had fish flakes and they are all on an every couple of days diet!

Yeah she is probably pregnant.

i would say she is highly constipated as she doesnt have a gravid for a pregnant female of that size. try feeding her shelled boiled peas to release the blockage

Thats whats really confused me. If you look at this pic taken on fri with my phone camera, she does have a gravid spot. And she does if you look at her from the back. Will get some peas tomorrow though and see if that sorts her size. Would frozen peas bolied work? I could do that tonight.

again very hard to see due to reflection of the glass! but they are born preggies btw lol so if she drops females u will have 100z of em in a few month lol! and if she is pooing, which u have a photo of her doing then she shoul b ok, just keep a close eye on her!

born pregnant, i would love to know where youve heard that from

just b/c she is pooing doesnt mean she isnt constipated, there are different forms of consipation, constipation is a blockage yeah? but sometimes the blockage is enough to show extreme swelling but will still allow poo to pass which is called overflowing, still needs sorting

I have put a frozen pea in with the skin taken off coz I was starting to get worried. She's in the breeding tank and I have left the pea in with her. I sat and watched her for a bit and she was nibbling at it. Hope that work else i'll go into town tomorrow to buy her a fresh one!


And yes I am blonde!

not always the case, give the pea time to see if this helps her, hope she is ok though.

I put her back into the tank with the rest of her friends to see if that helped. I've come down this morning and she seems to be a bit skinnier but now has 2 little white specs on one side of her.
