Sitting here I keep hearing a clanging noise, but each time I go and check on Tigger (oscar) he is just hovering in the water minding his own business. Soon as I move, clang again. So I have stood on the stool and spied on him over the top of the pc and noticed he is doing the clanging, gone to the tank again and just noticed the heater is no longer attatched to the suckers

:hyper:
lol, Star, what do you do to your Oscars to make them so mad (and cute) :shout: :hey:

Nothing Tiggs has only been here 48hours!!! I blame Minxy

I reckon Chops is a bad influence :shifty:

James.

Real bad, Chops is in the other room

Yep he always does it with the heaters, told you before I sat in my front room wondering what the banging noise coming from the kitchen was and yep everytime I looked he was just minding his own business looking angelic. I stood beside the fridge so he couldnt see me and he went full on at the heater and sucked the bottom so it banged against the glass.

You will need extra suckers on it or he will keep doing it! I trained him well :hey:

Its got 2 on now!!!!! :hyper: he got it off the top one. When I put my arm in the tank he keeled over and "died" for 5 minutes, now he cant rattle the heater he is picking on poor iggy

Sounds about right, he always takes his frustration out on iggy, iggy can take it though, he's got tough skin.

Its me I am worried about, I am doing a wc on the baby rotties, I can feel the death ray comming out of his eyes because I have spoilt his game. I have to stick my hands in that tank tomorrow for a wc

Enjoy, just keep a close watch on him, he will play dead whilst you do the w/c, but if you turn your back for too long, he will be stalking your fingers and charge at you - have fun :hyper:

The heater is just behind the jewel filter, the filter is not stuck in only balanced on rocks while the external was maturing, I just havnt removed it yet, its on the list  I will have to sort out some sort of guard I think. The tank which I intend to move Tiggs too in a couple of weeks has a heater.

I had a brainstorm, I have found a spare spray bar and stuck that on the back wall of the tank with one sucker so the bottom of it can be bashed about, he is playing with that now, less noisy too.

Star, you need to learn that Oscars don't mix in with your array of fish. They are attention hogs and this drives them to show out more than normal.
A house full of varying fish makes Oscars very jealous I can assume.

Not sure what you mean by the above comment, star is perfectly knowledgable on what fish can mix, their requirements, maintenance etc and has more than enough tanks to move a fish should the need arise. The Oscar in question in this thread is one of mine she has taken in, who is even by Oscar standards a complete pansy and is at present in a 125g tank with just 2 large senegal bichirs (again mine) a ghost knife (mine) and an extremely large common plec, is isnt acting up or causing problems, just likes to play with the stuff in the tank, in this case a heater which he found he could bang the glass with, Oscars enjoy playing with their tank decor.

Trust me I am learning. I studied keeping oscars before I bought my oscar Rusty, who I may add is quite normal. Having Tinker & Tailor for a couple of months was doing a favour for a good friend, and now taking Tigger is also doing a favour for both of us because Tigger is more placid and I can (if needed) move other fish to his tank. Chops on the other hand is a different matter, he was given to me instead of being euthanised because of his bad habits and deformity. I have worked hard with Chops to stop the jumping and have now suceeded. Each oscar is an individual, no amount of study can prepare you for this wonderful fish.
