I think that unless you get all new filter parts, you will still risk getting the worms back.

They are harmless. They exsist to some extent in everyone's tank (well the ones with substrate.)

Any ideas why after adding a dose of ammonia I suddenly see all these worms floating around. I've been dosing the tank with ammonia for weeks now, and then all of a sudden I add a dose and see all these worms floating around...BTW they are all gone again, maybe they are in the filter media now.
