I came across a pic of a betta that I really really like the look of. The title of the pic says it's a betta imbellis(sp?)

Just thought I would ask if this is correct by showing you all the pic...

Hit the nail on the head there!

That's what I thought, but then it seems to have a longer body than a pk and smoother edges to its fins and tail. Or is that just me?

from what i read , thats the aquarium strain "maybe mized with anyother betta too?" or enhanced by breeders. then the ones like i have are the true wild strain un played with.

sayin that tho, i take everything i read about any betta's with a pinch of salt

Funnily enough it was your thread that got me nosing about. I presume by enhanced you mean the colouring? mind you what else could you mean eh

I would say I've not seen the flashes of colour in the face like that on a normal LFS PK, and his body is quite long... he could well be a cross breed of some sort.

He looks almost exactly like mine except for the slightly long body and blue on the face..

To be honest, all the splendens complex are very similar (well duh... otherwise they wouldn't be in the same complex...). It wouldn't suprise me if at some point in the future there was some reclassification going on.

ture imbellis are alot longer then thinner in the body then a splenden, looking again the pic looks like some kind of cross. whos to really know lol
