I was feeding Norris a minute ago, and I left his tank lid open a little bit because I had to go to the bathroom. I can out after having washed my hands to see my cat, Tiger slurp him down.
HE WAS ONLY A BABY! :-(

:rip: Norris
the best gecko I ever had.

Poor thing :byebye: Just don't take it out on the cat. I can't believe people saying it's the cat's fault... come on... it's their nature; if a cat poses a risk to it then get rid of one or another.

Secure the thing in one room, no need to get rid of one, prevents problem. Cat wont like it but thats life..

Um, no. Secure the lids to your enclosures. Problem solved.

:rip: Norris :(

TBH this isnt the cats Fault. It only takes seconds to close a vivarium lid.
I thought you would have been used to doing that as just the normal routine with all your experiance of reps

its a sad moment to loose any pet esp when its been eaten by the cat, it was only a natural instinct.

good point though, the lid shouldve been closed, the cat has prob been waiting ages for the oppertunity.

My cat lives outside, he snuck in when my dad opened the door to go outside. I just didn't know it at the time. But next gecko I get, I will close the lid on the viv. And have you ever been doing something, and it just hits you? And you sprint off to the bathroom while dropping everything you were doing. It was one of those.

People make mistakes, they run off to do something really quickly because they think it'll be alright. I leave my fish tank lids open to run to the kitchen to get something that was thawing, or I won't clamp certain cages because I had to go to the bathroom. I've even left the stove really quickly while cooking. If you have precautions and know the situation and surroundings its alright. He said he didn't know the cat was in the house, so he wouldn't have known that there was a danger.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss of Norris. Its a hard lesson, in the future, just expect the cat to be inside somehow. Its hard to lose a pet, regardless of how its lost.

May Norris rest in peace...

You should have seen when He tried to get to my tarantula. He jumped up on the table and peered in and she rared up and he shot out of the house like a bullet!

Aww, Im sorry about Norris. I hope it doesnt give your cat an upset tummy!

Id run a mile too if a spider rared up at me! Actually, I would run anyway!
