I have added a poll question to this post to guage opinion quickly.

I am 3 days into my fishless cycle in my juwel rekord 110. my internal tank capacity is 98l and added 4mls ammonia at the start of the cycle.
day 1 4ml ammonia added
12 hrs later 0ml added. amm level 4.0ppm
day 2 0ml ammonia added. ammonia level 4.0ppm
day 3 0ml ammonia added. ammonia level 2.0ppm

I am just asking does keeping my tank light on help the bacteria grow or does it hinder the process. or does it simply make no difference. if it makes no difference then i will turn off my light to save power!

thanks in advance
paul

It makes no difference at all. Personally, I like to have my lights off as Ammonia + Light = Algae blooms!
