Hey guys I have a 40 gallon breeder that I “instant cycled” with filter media and some rocks from my established tank. But about 3 days ago I tested and it said 0.25 nitrite! I did a 20% water change, added seachem prime, and API quick start. Nothing worked and my nitrite is still at 0.25. I have nerite snails in there, will this harm them? What do I do to get rid of it?

You'll need to do at least 50% water changes daily until nitrites and ammonia stay at 0. Also check nitrates...you want nitrates to be 20 ppm or less.

you can move the nerite snails to an old tank, they can live there for a while. it is best not to expose them to these things
