I am on day 29 of my fishless cycle and I have done the "snack" Ammonia feed as that dropped to 0.
It returned to 0 again 24 hours after that but so far the Nitrite levels haven't dropped at all, not even looking like it is reducing a fraction.

Should I start to worry at this stage or give it another week and see?

Thanks

In any cycle, it takes time for the bacteria that turn ammonia in nitrite to grow.
This appears to have happened in your tank.
The added ammonia will 'feed' this bacteria only...unless you have plants, in which case it'll feed the plants as well.

It can usually take a bit longer for the bacteria that turn nitrite into nitrate to grow.
Give it time.

How did you source your bacteria?

I used Microbe-Lift products, a 'Special Blend, which included the ammonia-munchers and Nite-Out II, which included nitrite munchers.

It takes longer for the nitrite eaters to grow than ammonia eaters as they take longer to divide. My nitrite finally dropped on day 42. It was over 5 on day 40 and zero on day 42.
