The easiest solution is to just increase either the size, the frequency or both of your water changes. That's the easiest, most reliable and cheapest solution.... And as pointed out, fish waste water is tremendously useful for flowers! My impatiens never looked so good - so it works for more than just roses. Saves water as you're not "wasting it" as you pour it down the drain. I always feel bad in the winter when I just pour it down the drain.
