Nitrate / Ammonia Spike.

Sorry to hear about your loss. The one you need to make sure is zero, and is the killer, is ammonia. Nitrite and nitrate are relatively harmless to fish unless in massive quantities in marine tanks (freshwater is different). You get the ammonia sorted and the others follow anyway.

Here is an intersting article on nitrites in marine aquarium:-

Any level of ammonia is very dangerous, low is not good enough, it needs to be trace/zero.

Good luck.

It was and had been 0 for a few weeks before the incident.

The only thing that was higher than I would have liked was Nitrate at 20ppm.

Anyhow, Im gonna wait for the tank to sort itself and go from there.

Thanks for the words of advice / sympathy / support.

Yeah, I meant this is the figure to watch before adding more fish, and more than likely what killed them. Feel for you, I know I'd be gutted if my new clowns died

Sorry to hear about the clowns Allen :( Like Mr Miagi said, since you now have no stock, go ahead and re-scape to your liking and then leave it there. Your cuc and corals should be fine. Dont be afraid to do a LARGE water change (50%+)to bring nitrate levels down if they continue to rise as the detritus decomposes. I also have to agree that I dont by ANY fish from the LFS until I watch them eat there. And I really trust my LFS, problem is I dont trust the shipping process... Also, when I get them home, day 1 I feed them exactly what the LFS feeds them. Day 2 I try feeding them what the LFS feeds with garlic extract added. Day 3, same. Day 4 I'll try my own marine mix (which has garlic) and see if they eat it, if not, its back to LFS food.
