Nirtrate levels NO3: Advice needed

I actually had the same problem with some bogwood that I pulled out of the garden and added to a tank I'm cycling. I have another piece in the tank that's been used before, and there was no white flossy stuff on it. So most likely in time it will stop appearing. I vacuumed mine off also. Hopefully that takes care of that!

Well folks this is probably, and hopefully, the last post regarding my new tank and it's cycle.

I just got home from work and tested. Ammo and Nitrite are nil for the third consecutive day. Nitrates are at a constant 25. Everything else is as it was with perhaps a small curve towards a softening of the water -the PH and calcium have dropped. I live in a HARD water area.

I am complete!
