Is Turbo a mystery snail?  BIG!!

Love seeing all your pics.  And congrats on the eggs hatching this time around!
Yep, he's a blue mystery snail. My big baby! WB sent him to me in the summer time I think, or early fall. He was small then
Thank you!

Teach me how to ship them! :p I know you're kidding but they grow really slowly apparently so it would be a while.

Im not joking haha, you get a box and line it two different ways styrofoam cooler, or styrofoam silver looking thing haha. Then you put the fish in a bag with mostly air, you should double bag it and put newspaper in the second bag. If its cold then you rap a temporary heater in newspaper and put it in the box.
My marbled crayfish was put in two breathable bags in this with 2 heaters.

My fire eel was put in this, in a large bag with one heater.

Well! If any make it then we shall work something out ^_^ Thank you for the instructions! Quite helpful. I'll be sure to ask WB as well as I know she ships a lot.

Wow, I love your tank.  Looks incredible.
Being a newbie after so many years being out of the hobby, I had a couple questions if you don't mind.

My son really wants to put his Betta in my 35 gallon tank, once we can add fish.  (Still going through the cycle process)
Is it ok to add a Betta, if I have things like the neon tetras, mollies, sword fish?
Also is it to ok to add the Cherry Shrimp.

From your photos it looks like you have a shrimp and a Betta in with other fish.  The guy at the store yesterday told me no to my questions, but thought I would ask someone who may have tried this.  I don't trust what he said, as I asked him to show me a male and female guppy, and he couldn't tell the difference, so I lost faith in his advice.  I thought this would be a pretty easy question to test his knowledge, not that I have a lot, but at least I can tell the difference.

Thanks for any advice you can share.

If any fish in the 35 gallon are about the same size as you betta and colorful, then the betta will most likely misconceive them as other bettas. Adding cherry shrimp with bettas has had mixed results, some are ok with them some are not, they all have different personalities. The other fish in the 35 gallon shouldnt mess with them, if you do want the cherry shrimp youll want to have lot of mosses for them to hide in and eat.

Hmm..I have heard of neon tetras nipping Bettas, so I personally wouldn't do this. Swordtail males can be nippy too from what I've heard.
You can add cherry shrimp if you like but the betta may eat them. If you add them provide places to hide that the betta can't get into.

My betta is in with sterbai cories and snails in a 20g long, nothing else :) Sorry my pics are likely sort of confusing in what tank is what and who is where!
They can be in community tanks like you've asked about..but it's all up to their personality and the other fishes too.
Even if none of the other fish nip at it, it may feel stressed being in a community tank. So if you try it, have a back up tank just in case!

The shrimp I have is a bamboo shrimp, it gets up to 4". Not very easy for a betta to eat

That seems a decent question to test his knowledge to me. It's a good idea to always ask here first rather than trusting the LFS. It's sad to have to say that but most of them just want your money :(

Welcome back to the hobby btw!
