Thanks...I saw your entry! So cool
Do all livebearers need hard water? My water isnt suitable but I havent been able to rehome my fuplies yet. I really like livebearers thoughThanks...
This way I can show members overhere that there are way more livebearers than just those of the "Big 4".
No, not all livebearers need hard water. But a big part of them prefer it. But a biotope tank with lots of leaves can make the water somewhat softer and a lot of those livebearers will do well in there. So, it depends more on the livebearer species itself wether hard, softer or more neutral water is preferable.Do all livebearers need hard water? Edit. Guppies! It keeps autocorrecting to fuplies.... why? I dont know. @Colin_T
Could you suggest some ones that like soft? No, not all livebearers need hard water. But a big part of them prefer it. Eventhough they are kept in hard water, wildguppies and endlers will do fine in softer water as well. But use juveniles for they'll get adjusted to softer water much better in comparison to adults. I could start about other wild livebearer species, but almost a 100% sure that those won't be offered at an lfs. But even a lot of goodeid species will do fine in somewhat softer water.Could you suggest some ones that like soft?
Do would my fancy guppies be fine in my ultra soft water if they were born and grew up in it?Eventhough they are kept in hard water, wildguppies and endlers will do fine in softer water as well. If they're bigtailed guppies as adults, I wouldn't do it. For the fins will suffer from it. Shorttailed guppies are better off in soft water.Do would my fancy guppies be fine in my ultra soft water if they were born and grew up in it?
They are pretty short tailedIf they're bigtailed guppies as adults, I wouldn't do it. For the fins will suffer from it. Shorttailed guppies are better off in soft water.
Then it should work...They are pretty short tailed
