Well i think ive finally got my tank cycled after about 6 weeks. I am now looking for some ideas as to my next fish which i hope to get at the weekend.

I have the 46L fluval edge with a couple of plants in it, 4 x RummeyNose Tetras, 2 Trumpet snails and 2 x red Plecs.
We fancy one of those fighting fish or something colurful. Maybe a bottom feeder. Oh and would like a a shrimp of some sort.

Any suggestions appriciated

Ta

When you say red Plecs do you mean albino plecos ?? They will grow was to big for you tank.

The Edge is taller than long so I wouldn't go with the rummy nose tetras, they need length to swim & need to be in larger groups.
You could go with something smaller such as ember tetras.
Are the red plecs ancistrus? If so I'd only go with one.
You haven't much floor space for bottom feeders but you could have habrosus corys.
If you go for a Betta then shrimp are not a good idea as the Betta may see them as an expensive snack

Too small a tank for any of the 3 Rummynose Tetra species, they deserve at least a 75cm long tank.

I worry about what you are calling a Red Plec, very few plecs are suitable for a Fluval Edge.

Betta splendens (and other air breathing fish) are out of the question, the design of the Fluval Edge leaves virtually no circulating air.

Very few fish can live in these tanks for life, they are even worse than 60cm long ~54l tanks, which aren't easy to stock responsibly. 6-8 male Guppies or Endler Guppies for example, tank stocked.

There's always ember tetras, chili rasboras, celestial pearl danios and dwarf emerald rasboras.

I agree about the rummynoses and I, too, am worried about the 'plecs'!

OP; have a look in the nano tank section; there's a list of fish that are suitable for smaller tanks pinned in there :)
