Hi everyone new to fish keeping and would like any suggestions on what to put in my 17g tank
was going to keep a betta and other compatible fish but after reading up my filter pump is to fast
as it says they like gentle flow
I had a look in my lfs and saw some Chinese Hillstream Loach I really would like to get at least 3 of these
but wondered if they are ok for a beginner like myself and what other fish could I have with them as I have read they are best kept
in temps of 65-75 f any help would be greatly appreciated

I have brown hair algae on some pebbles, bog wood plastic plants and a little bit on the glass
I'll see if i can supplemented there diet with algae wafers and some veg. ill check out the link

also does ur pump got a button which u can make the flow slower or faster

the ebst thing i siggest u put inside it is gupied 6 females 3 males and ull make a alot of fry's and easy to look after

i wouldn't recommend guppies as they breed way too easy and with 6 females that could have upto 50 healthy fry each month thats a good 300 fry, if you want guppies go all male for now and at least 5

yeah i suppose theyre a bit too many you can also sell them i think or give them away but not all fry live some die on birth and some get eaten

guppies being so common these days are very hard to get rid of, most stuggle to give them away

And still would like Chinese hillsream loach just wanted to make sure I could care for them
Not sure I would want that many guppy but thank any way

i think hillstream loach need fast flow anyway, so we'll have to stock with things that like the flow, also think they prefer slight cooler temperatures but don't quote me on that

I have just noticed tiny white worms in my tank not sure what they are ?

hehe yeah ive seen what u mean yeah but u can also do something thats better get like 5 males 5 female and another tank.males and females seperate.thats what i do but i only have 1 female and its awesome my oppinion what sort of fish do u like tiny worms lol>?u dnt have any fish in there do u?

yep u right
lot of people have said they like coller temp between 65-75
