Good Morning :)
I am new to aquariums, I have a 25 gal. Eclipse system. It has the Biological Filtration. I live on the farm so all the water we use comes from a well right here on the farm. We have a Reverse Osmosis System for our drinking water and just use the well water for the rest of the house hold use. We do have a water softner also. I tried to use the well water right from the well as it doesn't go through the softner but it is so hard it caused the heater, etc. in the tank to coat up heavily with white, so thought this just too hard so I have put the Reverse Osmosis water in the tank along with some town tap water ( I de-chlorinated it first using Sera Aquatan) I conditioned it with Sera Nitrivec and waited for 48 hours to put my fish in. Only put in 3 Platys, this was done Sunday evening June 4th.
I thought I could just stay with the Reverse Osmosis water, but was told it wouldn't have enough nurishment so should use a three osmois to one town water, is this a good idea?
Looking forward to any ideas from anyone.
Thanks and take care
