Newbie - Which Plants?

Hi,

I am just in the process of setting up a new tank, i am a total begineer and i was wondering what live plants would be ok for a new tank and when do i put them in, i am starting the fishless cycle tomorrow!

Hygrophilia Sp. are great and grow very well in low light, just be ready to trim them every couple of weeks after they take off. You can add your plants as soon as you like.

i like java moss if you have any big rocks or anything, since they're so easy to care for.

Anubias should be a safe choice. Haven't managed to kill mine yet at least. ~_^ Just be sure to avoid burying the rhizome , because it may rot if buried.

Hornwort was the first plant I managed to not kill (except duckweed, but you can't kill that stuff anyway - even after scooping every last bit of it from the tank, it managed to come back). It can be a bit annoying, since it's free floating and refuses to cooperate with my ideas of where it looks good, though.

Well, first of all it depends what types of fish you are going to put in your aquarium, certain fish prefer certain types of plants. Can you please give some more info about you plans for your aquarium? Thank you, I would be glad to help

Good choice too, java fern is also very hardy and needs little light, they are both slow growing though so make sure they dont get choked by algea.

Green Cabomba is a good choice i have it in mine and seems ok. The light levels in my tank are not fantastic and it seems fine.
