Is a 65 watt 6500k bulb good enough for plants in my 10g freshwater tank ??I used this on my fuge for my saltwater tonk, and plants grew like crazy.

Thanks in advance

I have a 10g tank with only a 15watt light and my plants do fine

With a light the power you have i would think you should be cool

:D Daren :D

Too much lighting can cause algae problems  2-3W per gallon is recommended for plant growth

Dose it matter that im useing ro water? Will this aid in stoping algea growth since phosphates are kept to a minimum?

I also read that for bigger tank sizes, its not always true...you need less watt per gallon as you go bigger...i have 1.8 watts in my 75gallon...i still have to see..

Using RO water should help. After all its not only light that helps algae growth. If you get the right balance of light, nutrients, plants and fish then your algae growth should be kept in check.

I dont think there is one formula for getting this right :D
