Hi im new to the forum and new to the Tropical Fish hobby. I bought a 20 gallon tank and 4 Cherry Barbs. My learning curve has been steep!! LOL! I probably put the barbs in way too soon but they are doing fine and Im doing daily water changes right now....trying to get the amonia level down.

I bought an aqaurium to remind me daily of my new philosophy on work and life. I have really gotten into the Fish! Philosophy based on the Seattle Pike Place Fish Market. Anyway, having fun and learning a lot. My goal is to become a good "hobbyist", add fish, and just be reminded by them to "live fully" each day.

Later,

Tyler

btw...my barbs dont seem to eat when i feed them. any reason? Ive learned that they can go awhile without eating but im concerned for the long haul.

:hi: to the forums! You might try some different types of foods for your barbs to get them to eat.

Welcome to TFF, Tyler! As the others suggested, try some frozen foods. When I had them, they loved frozen bloodworms. Brine shrimp were also a good supplement.

hey thanks all...for the food advice for my barbs. I went out and got some micro pellets that says its for tetras, barbs, and small fish...they seem to take to the pellets better than the flakes.

I will also take the advice and get some blood worms and brine shrimp.

I will keep you posted on my progress.

thanks,

Tyler
