Same white male crowntail I used last month. A smaller steel blue and red female this time (last female was about the same size as he was). After having kept the female in a glass container in the spawning tank, I released her early since Britany was showing vertical lines already. Marvin had built a fair size bubble nest and was hovering under it.

Britany went straight to the nest and started inspecting it. She did not destory it :D Left them alone.

Could not resist so I took a peek after a bit. Britany under the nest. Marvin embedded himself in the plants

Britany went towards the plants and Marvin stuck his head out of the plant and flared than pulled it back in again :(

Well I guess I will leave then there for a day.

This is not looking good

Leave em  Blue and red female, aay? Any pics of her? How many females do you have?

I have four. Recenly lost one. Another one was appropirated by my GF (Kichi the Superfish) :D

She is actually Steel Blue with shades of red in her finnage.

No pics, but will try to take some of her sister.

No signs of breeding yet. The female is on the far side of the tank now and no longer approaching the nest. Marvin has been building it bigger...it is not the biggest he has ever built. He is there just a few inches from the lady betta, just watching her. Not flaring or anything.

Good luck Ral

At least they are comfortable together and not trying to kill eachother.

My first planned attempt at spawning my pair that accidently spawned in December ended in them getting too comfortable together. In the end my female got so aggrevated that the male just wanted to be "friends" that she started tearing him up  so I had to put a stop to it

Hope yours spawn for you

I hope so too. I have 4 female crowns, but Marvin is the only male crown I have right now.

try taking out the plants. i kno they're for the female but if the male is hiding inthere i guess it wouldnt hurt. i dont use plants in my spawn tanks and my females are fine. lol

I pulled out the female this morning. She has been there for two days and figure it was time to feed her. No sign of eggs in the bubble nest.

Was able to pick up two Cambodian Crowntails at the LFS for $2.25 each :D

Will let them get acclamitized and start condition and pair.
