Good Morning Everyone!

Since you already know where I live, I have 5 cats and I love gardening and playing on the internet

I have a 30 gallon hexagon with live plants, caves, one which I had made myself from a small planting pot by knocking out a hole & placing it upside down.

I have all community fish, my favorites are my clown loach's, who love to hide and sleep upside down in a piece of bark! :alien:

I have had 5 sets of clowns, they all ended up with white spots, even though I raised the temp to 90 and added different kinds of ich meds each time, they all died.....so I'

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my new two do well.

Kuhli loachs, I just bought two and love the way they swim around...then I added two more, now 3 are swimming quickly up and down the tank and the fourth lies at the bottom most time. They are not convulsing nor twirling, my fish store told me that's typical behavior as they do clown around, I'm just shocked as they seem to do it most of the day and am nervous that something else may be wrong. I have my water checked and everything is normal and my temp sits around 78 and has no salt in it. Funny how I read they are nocturnal, well, mine certainly are not.

so that's my story and if anyone has any suggestions on the Kuhli, I would love to hear about them.

Clown loaches get quite big, so not really a good option for you anyway.. on the other hand, khuli loaches are very nice and a good fish.. you should try getting a few more so that you have 5-8 in total, they are so much nicer in a group! (If your fish tank will take them, that is.) Yes, they are slightly crazy and their behaviour is quite normal for the species.. if you had sand, they would have spent half their time under it!

Funny how I find my fish store never tells me when a fish is to big for my tank, and they know me quite well.

Who knows if the clowns will last as they are scaleless and prone to ich.

and thank you Kitty Kat, it's good to know it's normal behavior for my Khulis as the first two never acted like that.

What kind of set up and fish do you have?

I'm not sure if I have room for more, a hex is tall and narrow and with the plants, caves and tons of other fish, I think I will wait and see whar happens to them as I just cannot understand why the act this way all day long.

I wish I could edit..as I had a few change to make.

why is it I cannot post anywhere else?

thanks!

I also tried to upload an avator?

Welcome to this wonderful forum! I must say I believe Kitty Kat is very right in saying Clown Loches get big (1' in some cases) and are therefore not suited to your tank. Maybe instead, if you are able to rehome them you could get a smaller species, like Botia Sidthumunki. If you are able too could you please upload a photo of your tank, I would love to see it!

Enjoy the forum,

Thank you! It seems like a really great forum!

Would the clowns not grow to fit the size of the tank? One foot is just unacceptable in a tank my size and my store should have known better than to sell me 4 pairs.

I looked for the 'paper clip' icon to upload a pic but couldn't find one, how do you upload Amazon?

Wise of you :) what is your full stocking?

I think, you need to check your email and click the link to validate your account?

They will be stunted and that will limit their growth somewhat, but they will still get too big and it will affect their health.

Once you validate your account, you should see an "Attach" section below the area where you type when you use the "Add Reply" button for replying (not the fast reply).

I did click on my email or I wouldn't be here KItty Kat, perhaps there was another link, can someone please send me another one?

I've never heard of the fish species you have, as I'm still learning as I only have community, can you post some pics for me?

I have to many fish now and will be taking some bigger ones back since I have plenty of their babies. I would say 20 in total counting all my bottom feeders.

Ok, I've asked mods/admin/whoever-is-in-charge to help you :)

You can see most of my photos on my Flickr page, have fun browsing! There is a set dedicated to freshwater and another for marine! I expect to see some photos in return!
