Is it better to use sand in my tank or is it purely down to the person?

>> Sand, pro : Looks great, a lot softer than gravels, some cories and other likes it a lot

Con : If you have messy eaters, or big waste dumping fishes, or if you dont clean often,..you WILL see it stacking on top of the sand, so visually gets dirty..

But as you are not keeping big or 2 many fishes, it could be idealistic...

once again, its purely up to you

I am going to go with sand... Is it at all practical to keep sharks, e.g. bala or red tailed black sharks with other fish? They look great...

If you want balas 100G+ Minimum (they get to a foot in length)
If you want a red tail or a ruby 55G +
