You might consider Nano’s in the 10g . Fill the 55g with all male Guppys.

Ha, maybe in the future. The 10 has been a busy nursery tank for a long time for baby plecos.

Forgot to mention my 90 population
3 rainbow cichlids, 1 fire mouth, 2 bn plecos (1 standard, 1 albino), also have temporary kuhli loaches. Loaches had to be in there as an emergency tank change, though they seem pretty happy . Cichlids I have show zero interest in them.

AH! Love it..... I went from 4 tanks the first of Dec, to 8 now with two dry ones, "just in case".... LOL
Once I would have said FILL EM UP! But, I always want an ER, so 10s are good for that!

BN plecos are fine, they get along about anywhere...... If you dont care for the Cichlids, find some one to trade or even the LFS.. If you got to take care of it, might as well have something in there that motivates you or the whole thing will decrease or cease!

No I’ve had my cichlids for years and the bn longer. Just the loaches got added as an emergency. It’s a mostly peaceful cichlid community.
I recently downloaded about 20 of my plecos to local stores. I’ve been breeding plecos of various colors and types for the last decade . The 10 was being used as a fry grow out tank for a while, but I now have 2 long trays with pumps as home made tanks.
I think my next step is looking for a location in my house for my ant farm paludarium. Will likely use white clouds or guppies for the water section, still planning

Yeah ! The good thing about them is that so many people want one in their tank!
I think I’ve spawned enough though. My albinos seem to be more in demand according to local stores. I bred 1 and only 1 that was a true black melanistic

Are there any good sites the show or explain the color variants in A. Cirrhosus? How much is known about genetics and dominance? Someone told me LF is partial dominate and another person told me regular red eye lemon/albino is recessive to BE Albino/lemon..... AND there are the NORMAL color... But some are DEF darker/black while other are brown.. but I have heard them lumped together into Normal. I am not sure what what you mean by melanistic black...
