hey guys.

finally upgraded my tank a couple of weeks ago.
it's still a work in progress, but the rainbows are still the same.
i tried doing a super macro video, so you can see each fish in detail.

hi,

i passed by PetSmart one day and saw it on the bottom rack, all dusty and ignored. i thought i had to have it, but didnt have the money.
waited till pay day, then went back frantically to get it and it was still there

i think you're across the pond? PetSmart is one of the big chain pet stores down here. sometimes they have some good stuff!

Thats a lovely Boesmani you have, did you buy it at that size? I hope to find one as colourful. Is it best to look out for the most colourful one in the shop? I bought a young one that was the most colourful, it was nice unfortunately it died due to unforseen circumstances.

Should I buy a big one and hope it colours up when its home?

i have not had the luck to find big rainbows at the local stores. they are always juveniles.

the only advantage to getting the fish at a young age comes from better nutrition and
the use of color enhancing food, as I always have done. if you get the fish little,
feed it well and properly and give it good water, it will probably look better than
a fish kept in breeding ponds or lfs tanks with poor nutrition and care...
