Well its 6 weeks on and i still have 7 Neons - I think the 4 that are MIA/KIA were down to "New Tank Syndrome". Sid the Golden Apple Snail has relinquished his carnivorous tendancies and has resigned himself to a life of cucumber eating. 2 of the remaining Neons have grown, 5 have remained the same size but seem to have lost a lot of their colouring - perhaps they are in mourning for their lost commrades. May they rest in peace.
My LFS told me that the samller and less colourfull Neons were "from abroad" - I can only guess they are French and are unwilling to conform to International standards and civilised behaviour.
As far as the "International Neon stock exchange" goes, I think we should buy low in my local pet shop in Shropshire, UK and sell high in Alaska. It was interesting to see how much variety there is in the world wide Neon tropical fish sales market, thanks.
