Hi everyone,

I am new to the Forum, but I have already posted a few items on Snails and stuff. (My Golden Apple Snail just ate a Neon).

I am from the UK - in Shropshire, in the Middle of England.

Just out of interest, and to add some spice to my first Newbie posting, how much do Neons cost in your neck of the woods? Mine were £0.99 each, (Nearly 2 dollars right?) so I bought 4 and the guy in the shop threw in another 7 for free!!!

Here neons cost close to $2.00 USD. Kinda expensive. You got 7 for free? Lucky!!

neons areond here are about £1.25 and they usually die young

Around here you can usaully get neons at 12 for $20Cdn.
That's about $15US

They're around $2.00 at chain stores and $1.80 at small lfs. It's different all over, though.

I was able to get neons for $1.00 from Petsmart, though (big chain store). They weren't trying to get rid of their stock, either, because they got three new shipments of them before I got mine.

I don't know how much neons cost these days. When I go to the lfs, I head right to the corys.

Welcome to TFF!!! Neons around here usually go for around the $2 range. Although the local Petsmart had them on special for 99 cents here, too. Been a while since I've seen them at that price. Free is even better, sounds like you've found yourself a good shop!!!!!

here, the healthy ones are around 1.59..............if you want scary ones that you aren't sure about, they are .99 cents sometimes at pestmart.

I have a neon who got bent-double in a freak gravel-cleaning accident a year ago...he's alive today, and he's straightened out pretty well, he's just mildly hunchbacked now.

well I started with 11 Neons, now I have 7. I can account for two deaths - one the day after I bought them (stress?) the other's head was found stuck in the filter inlet grate after Sid the Golden Apple Snail had eaten the rest of him, the others are M.I.A. I guess they just died and the snail cleaned them up...

The other fish in my tank are fine, no wonder I got a few free Neons if they are this feeble.

At Henley Pet Centre in ontario, I got Neons at $.34 canadian! Great store

Well you are all stinkers I just got back from the 1 fish store here (only other one has ich in 80 percent of tanks). Neons were $3.99 each OUCH.

Have seen them for $1.99 at the other place but you would spend $20.00 on the meds to cleans them up and it's not worth it to infect the rest of your stock.
