I was gifted a 75 gallon tank and fish, several guppies, a dragon fish, an albino plecostomus (Orange??), an orange shark with red fins, and a fish that I don' know what it is. I inserted a thumbnail of it if anyone can tell what it is.

It has been years since we had fish and I am happy to get back into it. They are so calming to watch.

I am no help with your fish identification but hello and welcome

Welcome! Congratulations on your new acquisition! I am complete junk at fish identification, but does your fish match any of the pictures that come up on google when you search "kribensis"? I also have my night filter still active on my phone so colors aren't coming through correctly so I'm probably about to get laughed at for my suggestion :D

The fish in the picture is a Madagascan rainbowfish. They need to be kept in groups of at least 6 (preferably 10 or more), in water with a pH above 7.0 and a GH above 200ppm.

Thanks for the welcome to everyone that responded. It sort of looks like that "kribensis", but I think more resembles a Killifish (sp?) Except it doesn't swim much with the top fin out to get a good comparison. It seems to be a very docile fish and only goes after anything if they bother it first. I think I may have MTS already as the wife and I were talking about another tank. ? I ordered a few live plants to put in and some siamese algae eaters to help control algae.
Any ideas on how to muffle the light from a 4' LED shop light?

Welcome to the forum, sounds like Colin_T knows what the fish his. He is our forum guru for all things fish.

I missed his post. I will definitely check it out, thank you.

THANKS!!! I looked it up and it looks almost EXACTLY like the third pic I saw. Only mine has some ragged fins; I think it may have been bullied before I got it, but it is becoming more radiant in color lately. I really like it. Thanks again!

Wahey I got one right!!!
Only because my local MA got some in just prior to Xmas and I’d never seen em before plus Madagascar has fascinated me since I was a kid so I spent more time than usual viewing the tank. They seemed to have a greater body length to height ratio than most similar looking rainbowfish. Too big for my tank I’m afraid but very nice all the same.
Only met one person who’d been to Madagascar. He worked there for a while and his local woman’s hairdressers (where he had his hair cut for convenience) was closing down and the girls in there were crying as they’d lose their jobs. Turned out the business could be bought for the price of a good night out in London. So he did. sold it to the main girl in there on the agreement he or any of his friends from London got free haircuts for life. So that’s my Madagascar story. Strange the things you remember isn’t it? Wish I could remember useful stuff.
As you were.

That's funny! And yes, it's strange the things we remember. Anyway, I do appreciate the pointer to the rainbow fish.
