I have red claw crabs and they love Java ferns, no plant survives intact longer then a day.

Crabs like variety and will eat anything from dead fish, prawns, each other, seaweed and even dead sea birds or dead sea mammals.

Those red claw crabs are omnivores. They eat everything you give to them. So yes, even plants are not fit for them. You just keep on buying new plants. Try fake plants with them.

They eat the fake plants, I meant I keep buying them plants as in they like them and enjoy eating them, they get shrimp and everything now.

Try using Romain lettuce. cheaper than aquatic plants and should do fine. Make sure that the lettuce is organic without chemicals.

Mine destroyed the real plants but left the fake ones alone.
