Questions; how to do ‘black water setup’? I want to do it to my tank.

Just add anything that releases tannins into the water that is safe for fish - like driftwood and the Indian almond leaves you can see in my pics. You can get almond leaves from eBay and Amazon.

Soak them in a bucket long enough for them to sink, and, if your water's soft, keep an eye on pH, GH and KH (which reminds me - I'd better check my levels).

Obviously, wood is going to stop releasing tannins eventually, but the leaves rot away, so need replacing. :)

Please excuse the cloudy water. :blush: I must have disturbed the sand when I cleaned the algae from the glass this morning.

Tank inhabitants;
13 Trigonstoma Hengeli/Glowlight Rasbora

1 Trichopodus Leerii/Pearl Gourami

It's still a bit barren for my liking, but it is a work in progress.

Welcome! Nice tank and neons!

Thank you for the welcome, and kind comments. I think I'm going to fit in here. :)
