Hi everyone! :)

As the title states, I've been in the fishkeeping hobby for quite a while now. However, this is one of my first posts on TFF, so I figured I'd take the time to introduce myself and get to know these wonderful members. :)

Currently, I have 4 tanks up and running. But I have plans to set up many more. :) I'm completely dedicated to my aquariums and it's inhabitants, doing everything it takes to keep them thriving.

10 gallon:
Home to 6 beautiful female bettas, and 2 mexican dwarf orange crayfish

20 gallon:
1 platy
2 harlequin rasboras
3 cories (1 "emerald cory", 1 panda cory, 1 melanistus cory)
1 otocinclus
Planning to add: 5-6 celestial pearl danios, 1 honey gourami

This is my "misfit" tank. Despite the "not recommended" stocking, all the fish are bold, active, and healthy.

15 gallon storage container:
Snail nursery
Breeding mystery, bladder and Malaysian trumpet snails

75 gallon:
3 beautiful, rescued goldfish;
Buzz has been with me for over 4 years. Unfortunately he was stunted at a young age, which is why he is only 7 inches long. He is a gorgeous comet goldie.

Killer the comet goldfish came to me just a few months ago. In his previous home, he was stuffed into a tiny 10 gallon tank, half filled with water, no gravel, no decor, no filter, and grossly overfed. The poor thing was terribly neglected, yet with clean water and a large tank, he is now thriving. He's currently 6-6.5 inches long.

Spartan is the runt of the gang. He's a little under a year old, and was given to me from someone who found him as a leftover from a local carnival. I was determined not to stunt little Spartan, so he was moved into the 75g as soon as he was larger than the others' mouths. In the four months that I've had him, he's grown over 3 inches! Unlike his bigger tankmates, Spartan is a common goldfish.

Outside of fishkeeping, I spend a lot of time with my non aquatic animals. I rescue and foster furry, scaley and slimey animals of all shapes and sizes. Currently, I devote my time to a goldendoodle, a silky terrier, a chinchilla, two budgies, and a gargoyle gecko.

And as you may be able to tell, I love to write. :p I hope to gain more knowledge about the mysterious aquatic world through my time on TFF.

Nice to meet you! :)

to TFF, GoldenRoses!
Hopefully you'll be able to help others too with your experiences.
It's quite refreshing to read that your goldfish are in a good sized tank. Well done you for rescuing them!
Ideally the platy, corys and otos would be in larger numbers for their peace of mind, but if all the occupants are stress-free in your misfit tank then that's all that matters.
All your tanks sound lovely! Have you any pictures? We love pictures!

Great introduction :)

Look forward to hearing and seeing some pic of your tank set ups.

Hope you enjoy the forum!

Thanks for the welcome, Mamashack and Ch4rlie. :)

My snail and goldie tanks are always under construction (when people say goldfish tear up plants, they don't lie!), so I'll upload a picture once I get them looking semi decent. :)

Here's my 20 gallon, and 10 gallon tanks. :)

to the forum! Hope you enjoy it here.

The rasboras, otos, and cories all need groups of 6+ of their own kind (so I would choose which cory you prefer and bump it's numbers and re-home the others). Glad to see the goldies are in a good home!

Your pics aren't working, at least not for me? Would love to see them as well :)

Whoops! Not sure why I can't post pictures?

I receive a lot of criticism on my 20 gallon, and the way it's stocked, but I can assure you that all the fish are thriving in there. The rasboras have been with me for well over a year, closer to two years. They are some of the most boisterous fish I've ever seen. Surprisingly, they'll take food right from my hand!

I purchased the lone emerald cory about a year ago, and she was very shy. But, all the other emerald cories were almost twice her size. The melanistus and panda cories were closer in comparison, and since introducing them into the tank, they are all inseparable. They happily dart around the tank, swimming in all levels of the aquarium. I hardly recognize them as bottom feeders now. I couldn't imagine separating them.

The oto is absolutely fearless. While doing water changes, he comes to sit on my hand. :p

Although things may not be ideal, they're defiantly working. Sometimes schools die off, or large numbers aren't available. Not all fish comply to the standards. :)
