Hello everyone! I am from Canada and have just recently entered into this hobby. I currently have a 15 gallon planted tropical aquarium that has been up and running for 6 months. I've ran into a few hiccups here and there but have learned from every single one. Maybe its because I'm new to all of this but it feels like once you resolve and address an issue another one pops up. Here's to hoping things will get easier with the more experience I gain!

Welcome! :D
Yep, my first year in the hobby, just seemed to be one thing after another, despite loads of research! Fishkeeping has a super steep learning curve. But in between panics and crises, the periods where everything is going well and the fish are happy and healthy and the tank is beautiful, those periods make all the stress and expense worth it, I promise ;)

Stick around, read a lot from a lot of different sources, listen to youtube vids about fish keeping while you're doing housework and things like that, and don't hesitiate to ask any questions you have here, and you'll pick up so much useful information.

Welcome to the hobby and the forum!

I said *housework* not homework, lol ;) I'm in my thirties, no more homework for me!
Actually that's a lie, some of my training through work requires outside study, but I don't have to hand anything in to be marked anyway...

Nope, I'm an old lady, so youtube vids tend to get played while I'm making dinner, folding laundry or cleaning. :)

Definitely looking forward to that part! I am amazed at how steep of a learning curve fish keeping has, even after all the research (like you said)! Got through one of those panic/cry/frustration moments so heres to hoping the next while will be where everything is going well!

I'm also looking forward to being apart of a fish community, I had no idea that there were forums like this until just recently!

It's a learning curve that just keeps climbing I'm afraid, but it does get less steep and terrifying as you learn more ;)
Having a community full of experienced folks like this helps so much! Plus it's nice to be able to talk about fish with people who understand. People who don't keep fish tend to glaze over when you ramble about the nitrogen cycle or the finer points of filtration...

Also we love photos! Share photos of your tank, your fish, new plant growth, anything you're excited about! Always love seeing other people's tanks and fish :D
