sorry to keep going on am a newbie to saltwater :)

Eh your setup could be ideal marine fish only! How many liters is it?? (sorry if i missed that bit).

Your pump might need changing, and the filter im unsure on, you need to make sure neither of them have metal componants. The pump needs to have a ceramic impeller shaft (both laguna and some/most of the hozelock pumps do) and for the filter, i assume it would be ok, what are you running in it at the moment as media? TBH so long as it has biomedia and sponges it would work fine.

You would need to switch out some of your ocean rock for liverock, a lot of the larger species of tangs, angels and butterflies all rely on copepods and little creepy crawlies and algaes that live in the liverock as part of their diet and there is no real substitute for having liverock.

Other than that, your tank is probably closer to being marine than any tank you would buy new!

EDIT: lighting is perfect!

You would need to switch out the water for R.O and add salt or buy premixedstuff (most shops will lend you barrels and do a deal for you to fill you tank from scratch if they have sense, just sold a guy 500liters of premixed).

Check your pumps for metal and switch if you need to...

Sort out your rock.

Cycle and off you go.

Tank is 470lts 5.3ft x 20inc x 2ft

there are screws in the pump case and the pond pipe there is a jubilee clip holding on the pipe have had a look around and all the pipe clips are metal so i cant use them

Am thinking about selling the pump and filter and getting 2 of these aps APS 2000 EF

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aquarium-fish-tank-external-filter-2000L-H-Free-Media-2000EF-/400251100928?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Fish&hash=item5d30d31f00

i have one already as it was on the tank before i chanced it to the pond system so thinking the pond pump is rated at 4000lph and the two 2000ef is 4000lph and the 2000ef it says they are marine safe :)

any help would be great !!!

Jubilee clips and screws would rust in no time :( they do have ceramic impeller shafts though so thats ok...

I dont know anything about the APS pumps, all i know is they seem popular on this forum...
