I HATE when people ask for advice and just ignore you.
Then next thing you know she'll come back saying that her fish is sick and wondering why..
 
Anyways.
At least someone learned something here.
 
As for plants helping for water quality, I learned that it actually helps a lot (at least with mine)
I've always tested at 0 nitrates since I have a lot of them!
