New To Bettas

Just responding to the hospital tank, but yes, you may put a betta in there. But be warned when I put Carmel in a hospital tank because of dropsey I am sure if he could he would have killed himself. I think betta fish like to know what is going on around them so a clear tank is much better. But that is just in my opionion.

What about plants?

Ive heard that plastic plants can tear the fins, are there soft plastic plants you can use instead? cause i really dont want the trouble of living plants.

Can plastic plants really tear the fins? because I have a plant in there........................... I'll post pics of my tank later on a new thread.

It can but I have never had a problem with my PK and CT but flowly fins more prone to it like VT RT HM

Hes seems fearless. Doesnt hide if i move fast, etc.

Not too sure.

I have a platy in my other tank, it is small and red, so we named it 'WeeRouge' xD


So perhaps ill call my red betta, 'BigRouge'.

Who knows

I love reading these kinds of threads - a new betta nut in the making lol.

Firstly - I would like to say well done for doing the research first, its really nice to see that you care about having every thing just right for him and i'm sure you will give him a very good home

Secondly - he sounds like a right lil cutie, give him a day to settle and you should be able to get some pics whch i can't wait to see.

Thirdly - Just to clear up on the freeze dried BW's they are fine for your betta in small amounts like once a week but if you over do it you could cause swim bladder and other problems. I personally avoid them and use frozen. Also the pea needds to be cooked de-shelled and squished up plus only use half - this is also very good if your better looks a little fat - feed him the pea and nothing else them fast him for a day.
