Hello there,
I've just started entering the wonderful world of Tropical fish. The tank is in place, heater is keeping the tank at a steady 77F, a couple of plants are sitting their looking green. I'll run this for a week or so them start looking at fish. I rather like the look of the Neon Tetras, An excellent vivid blue and quite easy to look after so they say. Also a few "clean up" beasties such as cat fish and/or shrimp. I do have a newbie question but I'll post that in another forum. :D

welcome!!!! you'll find lots of friendly and helpful folks here.
make sure you check out the pinned articles in the beginners section, lots of helpful info there, and you'll find info on cycling, since you've only just set up the tank. :)

Many thanks for the warm welcome. Especially from a chum over the pond. I'll have hoards of questions I'm sure as I start out on this journey. I hope no one gets irritated buy daft questions!

Nah, we don't get irritated by seemingly-stupid (but really not stupid) questions. The forum is here for people to get answers and discuss theories, ideas, experiences, etc. If you want some fun "clean-up" critters for your tropical tank, I suggest Corydoras/Cory Cats and Ghost Shrimp. I have both and love 'em! The Corys are so cute and amusing and the Ghost Shrimp are really fun too!

Oh yeah, and WELCOME!!!!! :)

Hi Magnar and welcome to the forum :flowers:

Do not worry about being new to the hobby or be concerned about asking questions. There are many of us on this friendly forum who will be happy to help you.

Just be sure to read the pinned topics in the beginners section. The most important thing at this stage is that you understand how a tank gets cycled so that you can manage this process without losing fish. After that everything gets easier! :D

Welcome mate, :D
you will find lots of help here, your idea of fish is good, neon tetra are nice aren't they :p :p
