Found these 2.5 gallon tanks on sale at Petsfart and figured I'd better grab up the last two! Marie and Albert Fish were in 1.5 gallon cubes before, so I thought it was well worth the money to give them more room, especially horizontally. Only problem was they came with glass lids with no holes for tubing or anything, so I fashioned lids out of translucent plastic placemats, hah! Their cubes stayed at 78 degrees F with an LED light. Now with the lamp (15 watt bulb), the temp of their new tanks is hovering right between 79 and 80, yay.

Albert Fish has been up to no good recently, biting his tail. Hopefully his new conditions will put a stop to that. Or maybe I just shouldn't have named him after a cannibal, hmm. :p

that is really smart! i've been putting up with the glass lids those tanks come with, but seeing as how i have a filter and heater in the tank with them, there are many large gaps. did you put the duct tape to prevent sharp edges?

Thanks. Yes indeedy, I put the duct tape around the edges for cushioning as well as to disperse weight around the edges so that it stays flat. So far so good, it hasn't started peeling off or anything even though the underside of the lids are constantly wet.
