First of all, thanks to everyone who answered my thousand questions in my previous post (Getting a used tank).
I just wanted to put an update in, let everyone know how it was going!
We ended up not getting the neighbors tank. Luckily, my wife is awesome and let me start my own!
Got a 60 gallon set up in my living room, two Koralia Evolution power heads (2x550gph), a Remora HOT skimmer, 60lbs of sand.
My first 40lbs of Live rock came in today. Wow, that was fun. Wish I could get some photos. It was COVERED in life. Sponges, corraline algae, macro algae, various shelled creatures, sponges, worms. I can't wait for it all to clear up and see what lives/grows again. Found a few small crabs, but they didn't make it through the trip here.
That said, all the live rock I ordered (this 40 and the other 20) is Florida aquacultured live rock. Being four hours into owning it, I am sure my opinion is set (sarcasm!) but so far I'm very happy with the purchase.
I'll try and get some photos when the water clears up!
