So i just received this new tank, as i already have one running now. This tank is 26 gallons tall, I have had it running for a little over a week now with several live plants. I am currently struggling on which fish to get because every website tells me something different, i want a community tank.
I know that i will start out with 6 or 7 Zebra Danios, and i am debating whether to get Platys, Mollies, or Swordtails, and eventually some corys.
I want a peaceful yet active aqaurium, do these fish get along, which ones should i put in or leave out, and if so how many?

Thank You so much!

Please Visit the beginners-resource-center and get that tank all cycled up b4 you add ANY fish.
You'll be happy you did. And so will your fish.

While you are flishless cycling (hopefully) you can contemplate , and ask many questions about the species and compatibility..

Oh yeah a big warm welcome to you :hyper:

Edit: I now see the " as i already have one running now" line.. my mistake..
So you maybe seeded the filter on this new fish house? If so then a week would be about right give or take to have it ready...

this is a 26 tall so it will limit the fish that will do well. I'm going to pass on advice in that area and help bump your post up to get a more knowledgeable member to take notice.

The advice given by tmiller is correct. It is best to never introduce any fish until you have completed a fish-in cycle. It is not that you cannot control a cycle with fish like zebra danios in it but that it is an incredible amount of work to do all of the water changes that such an approach would require. We have threads that will tell you exactly how to do a fish-in or a fishless cycle and both work out just fine in the long run. It is up to you to decide which of these approaches to use. Until you have at least read through both methods, please do not choose one. It will affect how your life goes for at least the next 6 weeks depending on which method you choose. I have links to both methods in my signature area.
